Why we collect information

We collect credit eligibility information, credit information and personal information (together “information”) about you to:

1. Assess applications for consumer credit, commercial credit, or guarantor support.

2. Source suitable credit products from our panel of credit providers.

3. Support applications for associated products where requested.

4. Meet our obligations under law, including the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009.

If you do not provide the information requested, we may be unable to process your application or provide credit assistance.

How we collect information

We usually collect information directly from you, but may also obtain it from:

1. Credit reporting bodies (CRBs)

2. Employers, accountants, referees or other representatives

3. Business partners and service providers

4. Publicly available sources

5. Website interactions and electronic communications

6. Collection required by law

We may be required by law to collect certain personal information, for example under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006, the Privacy Act 1988 (including Part IIIA and the Credit Reporting Code), and the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009.

1. Obtain a credit report about you from a CRB.

2. Disclose your information to one or more credit providers to submit and manage your application.

3. Disclose your information to an insurer or broker if you ask us to arrange insurance.

4. Share your information with service providers we engage to help us carry out our functions (e.g. IT, compliance, auditors).

5. Disclose your information if required or authorised by law.

6. Where information is disclosed overseas by a credit provider or service partner, details will be available in their privacy policies.

7. Access, correction and complaints

We work with a panel of credit providers. Each credit provider has its own privacy and credit reporting policy, available on their websites. Details of the providers we work with will be provided on request.
